WISDOM GEDCOM

This GEDCOM file contains much of what is known, suspected, or rumored about the WISDOM line(s). It has been compiled primarily from messages posted to the WISDOM mailing list, messages posted to GenForum, census records, and the IGI. It contains very few references to primary sources and as such it should be considered, at most, only a guide to identifying the various WISDOM individuals that you run across. Any additions or corrections would be greatly appreciated.

1850 Census Records

1850 census extractions are just about complete. Still lacking are PA(1), MI(3), ME(1), MA(2), NJ(2), and NY(5). I've relied on the published census indices to locate these people. If you know of any WISDOMs in the 1850 census that are not shown here, please let me know.

Social Security Death Index

Includes deaths through mid 1995. There has been some confusion about who is or isn't included in the index. The requirement are fairly simple:
1) The person has to have had a social security number
2) The person has to be dead
3) The Social Security people have to know the person is dead
4) The information has to have been entered into the database accurately

Note that there is no requirement that benefits were paid.

Texas Death Index

Texas starting keeping vital records in 1903 though full compliance wasn't reached until the 1930s. The portion of the death index shown here covers the period 1903-1940.
